Can you ever imagine getting arrested for being excited at your child's graduation?

They make this rule so that EVERYONE can hear their child’s name being called. Also, stopping for cheering really does slow down the ceremony. We get it. You are proud of your child, but so are the hundreds of other parents. If you can’t be respectful of them and their graduates you shouldn’t go. How would you feel if your name was called and your family couldn’t hear it, because some idiot had to scream out, “that’s my Pookie, you better go girl” This is a once in a lifetime event. Why would you want to ruin it for somebody and their family? They worked just as hard as you did, and they deserve to walk across the stage without all of that silliness. People really need to stop just thinking about themselves.

I never got that rule of not being able to cheer as your child walks across the stage at graduation. Yes, I understand that other parents want to hear their child name called but that's why they have like a 10 second window in between the calling of each graduate name. Parents deserve the right to scream or holla as their child walks across the stage. The people who came up with this rule does not all the ups and downs the child might have been through even to graduate. I know a lot of kids who drop out or has been killed before even graduating, therefore the parents have a right to make noise as their child name is called. I am pretty sure some of them honorable guest who sit on the stage during graduation were the main ones shouting when their child, family or family of a friend graduated. Therefore, they need to miss everyone with that stupid rule and be proud those kids graduated through all the obstacles that our youth face nowadays.
