true the reporter need to know the information, but most reporters dont no what they report till they're reading the teleprompter.. in front of them. so if it was on a phone, it was on a phone. only difference is, spell check. no its not illegal to take information from one informant. news does it all the time, if it was, there wouldnt be any news to report... havent you seen were they recaps were they have had to correct something in the previous news. true enough, he should be charged, most male students usually either talk them into it, or either try to black male them...
