Sadly, the title of the article is not an exaggeration.
However, in North Carolina, a school official resorted to strip searching a third grade student. Here is what Yahoo News reported....

A North Carolina mother is furious after an assistant principal strip-searched her 10-year-old son after he was accused of stealing $20 from a classmate.
Clarinda Cox told North Carolina TV station WRAL that Teresa Holmes, ordered her son, Justin, to remove his shoes, jeans and shirt, leaving him in his boxers and a T-shirt.
No one from the school contacted her about the accusations or the search.
She said she found out about the incident when her son came home and appeared upset.
"I walked up to Justin and told him that if he had the money it would be better to just give it to me because if not I would have to search him.
Justin said that he did not have the money and to 'search me,'" Holmes said in the statement.
No charges, or even an investigation has been set at the moment.
THIS S***T HS ME CRYING, FOR REAL. THEY ARE DOING TOO MANY BAD THINGS TO THESE KIDS NOW A DAYS. HOW CAN THESE PERANTS PROTECT THEIR KIDS? PLEZ PEOPLE STOP ABUSING THEM.
They got a right to search you....but strip search of a 3rd grader? All types of foul...You get stripped searched when you in lock-up. Police can't even strip search you on the street. Momma better press charges or something...
Schools are allowed to search you though......When my brother was accused of having something on his possession they made him take off his shoes socks and pants....A S.O.R officer was present. It clearly states in the student conduct book which most people fail to read gives the staff the right to search students
look @ wat yu jus said hun..a officer yea an officer can do dat n if 1 its present @ da incident...but him himself nor any principal..can strip search him to his draws for ne thing unless he is committing or has already been caught n a crime dat he has committed.she could get a law suit going jus make sure she get a recorded conversation with dat principal stating dat he himself strip searched da child den dat skool is n trouble...n otha way if he gets a lawyer real quick dey gonna make him keep his mouth closed but he alreadi screwed up..jus didnt clarify n his statement dat he strip searched him to da draws jus said he searched him dat could mean patted down or ne thing looking n da boot bag..da justice system crazy but all i can say is it aint rite dey can make yu take ya shoes off empty ya pockets but pull yu to ya draws...NO

Dats illegal as hell and who would strip search somebody for 20 dollars dats petty. I hope she lose her job and dey sue da school, dats inappropriate and if I was his mom I would be ready to whoop her ass. Strip searching a minor smh she should be ashamed of herself.
