Subject : The liquid roof can be used to repair any kind of roofs - Epdmcoatings.com/video

Mood : Happy

Liquid EPDM can also be used on top of polyurethane after a light sanding. It is somewhat surprising that urethanes are still used as aftermarket roof sealants. It is known that the structure is damaged by UV light and that discoloration occurs relatively quickly. Anyone who has made the mistake of using urethane as a roof sealant should consider applying liquid EPDM to truly protect the roof.

The liquids can also be used to seal existing leaks. They are self-adhering and fill up tiny fractures that let water through. It is a good idea to use a thick coat and cover the entire surface instead of attempting to only cover the leaky area.

When covering the entire roof, the liquid rubber reduces heat buildup. Not only does the roof stay cooler, but the interior of the building or the vehicle will also stay cooler. This benefit may reduce heating costs and keep the occupants more comfortable.

Liquid EPDM has become the most popular choice for RV roofs, because of all the above-mentioned advantages. It extends the lifespan of the roof and requires less maintenance. It lasts up to three times longer than any other aftermarket RV roof repair sealant and also reduces noise from rain.

Subject : How to inspect the roof leaks and when? - Epdmcoatings.com

Mood : Happy

A leaking roof is every home owner’s or property manager’s headache. After winter season, it’s a good idea to inspect your roof and gutters for any damage winter may have inflicted. The last thing you want to deal with this summer is water leakage, or, even worse, mold growth in your home. Help prevent it by having a qualified local roofing contractor to inspect your roof for damage or loose and leaky gutters.

A leak from one dislodged tile is a small and inexpensive matter, but if you do not inspect your roof regularly, this will go unnoticed. By the time that you do notice it, it may be because water is dripping into your spare room! This means that this whole area of the roof structure is soaked, the ceiling will need to be replaced and hopefully the flooring will recover. Always check your roof for storm damage after a wind or hail storm, as most roofing is not designed to withstand fierce winds. Scrutinize the tiles for cracks, splits and torn-off corners; also check for lifting. Lifting is a common cause of roof leaks, and can be easily rectified. Be aware of multiple tiles lifting, as this could be a sign that the roofing material is too old and is warping from all the weathering. After all inspection you need Liquid rubber roof to fix the leaks of the roof once it is applied then you need nothing more for the leaks.

Subject : How to fix roof leaks? With which coatings? - Epdmcoatings.com/videos

Mood : Happy

Climb into your attic/loft and ensure that any insulation that you have in your roof is not right up against the roof itself. There has to be a gap for air to circulate; also when a roof heats up and there is insulation directly behind it, this heat is thrown back into the roofing and excessive heating like this can damage and warp the roof. Another weakness in all roofs is the flashing. Flashing is designed to provide a watertight junction between roof materials and structure, especially if the roof projects out or changes design (as with extension roofs). If you are installing a new roof, it is worthwhile to get the flashing ‘inspected’ as it is a common failure area.

If you ignore your roof leaks for a long time, then they may become a cause of major damage for of the roof. It is important to ensure that your roof is equipped with building materials that are appropriate to the weather conditions of the area that you live in. Choosing cheap, low-quality materials that do not handle well in certain weather conditions can prove to be a very expensive mistake. This type of mistake especially at the time of construction leads to bear heavy cost of repairing near about each year or in every season. You can minimize the problem by selecting the material that is more suitable and having great resistance for all type of weather condition like EPDM and liquid rubber coatings designed especially for it.

Subject : Liquid rubber application process is different from customs - Epdmcoatings.com

Mood : Happy

Liquid Rubber® is applied over porous surfaces such as poured concrete; pinholes will appear on the surface as the material slowly displaces the air in the pores. This surface wetting feature enables the product to be applied in a SINGLE COAT and the still results in complete film integrity. EPDM Liquid Rubber® can be applied to hot surfaces encountered during the summer. The solvent in the system will flash off rapidly but the polymer will remain soft long enough to permit overlapping even after 1-2 hours. The cure rate is still controlled even at temps up to 120 degrees. The product can, therefore, be applied on the hottest day. The controlled cure rate also results in a longer pot life, giving the applicator more than adequate length of time (4-6 hours depending on temperatures) to use the mixed quantity of material. Adhesion will increase over time. Polar surfaces such as metal, concrete and wood result in stronger adhesion than non-polar surfaces such as asphalts. Most weathered surfaces including single ply and thermoplastic membranes will have enough of a surface profile to anchor the EPDM Liquid Rubber®

By itself, the EPDM Liquid Rubber® membrane will exhibit the characteristics of its EPDM chemistry i.e. U.V. ozone stability, excellent ponding water resistance and long-term retention of flexibility. EPDM Liquid Rubber® applied over generally sound singly ply EPDM can extend its life another 20 years. The useful life of metal roofs will also benefit greatly when EPDM Liquid Rubber Roof® is applied. It is recommended that a corrosion inhibitive primer first be applied to areas where severe rusting has occurred.

Liquid Rubber® may be applied at any temperature that permits it being spread onto the surface. It will waterproof immediately upon application. The solvent will evaporate at a rate governed by temperature but will not be affected by relative humidity. Exposure to freezing temperatures before cure has taken place will not damage the film. The time necessary to reach cure should not be a concern as this process will occur automatically.

Exposure to sunlight will accelerate the curing process. The final film properties of the cured membrane will be the same regardless of the time required to achieve cure. EPDM Liquid Rubber roof coatings will provide long term protection even under extreme exposure conditions. It is resistant to temps of 300 degrees F and minus 62 F.

Liquid rubber is water resistant even in an uncured state. An unexpected rain shower shortly after application will not was***t off. The slow cure and non-polar nature of EPDM Liquid Rubber® gives it outstanding surface wetting properties. The product does not fill cracks and crevices but will produce an even film penetrating even the smallest surface irregularities.

Subject : EPDM is the black synthetic rubber best for residential roof - Epdmcoatings.com

Mood : Happy

EPDM is a black synthetic rubber single-ply roofing system that is typically mechanically fastened to the roof deck with screws and plates. They are sometimes covered with a layer of gravel or ballasted rock. Some of the problems with EPDM roof include moisture gain under the membrane itself, poor self-attachment at the seams and around pipes and other fixtures, UV radiation causing sealants to dry out and crumble, tenting, and punctures.

EPDM liquid rubber (ethylene propylene Dianne monomer) is a synthetic rubber waterproofing commonly used on roofs. Once thought to be incompatible with (electric field vector mapping system), due to too much black carbon interference, now has compatible grey and white versions! What does this mean? It means that if you want to use EPDM waterproofing under your green roof you can also have the peace of mind by having one of the most accurate leak detection systems installed as well! In many cases the leak detection system is cheaper than the waterproofing warranty as well.

There are lots of types of roofs that a house can be designed with. The most usual type is the ridged roof, composed of a sheet made of different materials and laid on an inclined rafter. This is the most practical type of roof while it has sufficient slope to catch and release precipitation. These are common to most residential houses but are rare among skyscrapers and slab-ended buildings. Liquid roof is also the best option for the roof leaks rather in RV or home roofs.

Subject : Different types of roof and their characteristics - Epdmcoatings.com

Mood : Happy

Different types of roof have different slopes within the same building. Many traditional buildings incorporate different types of roof within a single composition. For example, a building with the primary mass under a hip may have a central projecting bay with a gable end and a front portico with a pediment. The type and shape of the roof on your home can help determine how well it will perform during a severe windstorm. Don't use the same pitch for each roof! Each type has its own characteristics like liquid roof is very easy to apply:

Gable Roof:

The gable roof is a very popular type of roof. The gable roof is easy to build, sheds water well, provides for ventilation, and is applicable to a variety of house shapes and designs. A gabled roof has two slopes that come together to form a ridge or a peak at the top, each end looks like the letter A. Homes with gabled roofs are more likely to suffer greater damage, such as collapse of the end wall from high winds because they are often not braced properly during construction.

Hip Roof:

The hip roof is slightly more difficult to build than a gable roof, but is still a popular choice. A hipped roof is one that slopes upward from all sides of the building. Because of its aerodynamic properties and construction techniques, most hipped roofs will perform better in windstorms than the second roof type: a gabled roof. It does not provide for ventilation as well as some other roof designs and increases the chance for leakage due to the hips and valleys.

A-frame Roof:

The A-frame provides not only a roof but the walls as well. Originally, it was used for cottages, but in recent years has been applied to homes, churches, and other structures.

Flat Roof:

A flat roof is the most economical roof to build, but does not add much to the design of most house. It requires a "built-up roof covering rather than conventional shingles. A built-up roof consists of layers of roofing, felt, tar topped with gravel. Actually, most so-called flat roofs are pitched 1/8 to 1/2 in per foot to aid in drainage. The flat roof is popular in warmer areas of the country where wide overhangs are desirable for shade and where little or no snow falls.

Liquid rubber roof:

Liquid rubber is very suitable for RV roof repair. Because it light weight and cost effective.

Subject : Advantages of liquid roof coatings can not be ignored - Epdmcoatings.com/videos

Mood : Happy

The advantages that liquid roof coatings deliver cannot be ignored. The foremost benefit is RV roof repair. In this way it reduces the cost of re roofing. In addition the reflective nature of roof coatings greatly reduces the cooling cost because these coatings reflect the heat and sun rays, generating a cooling effect. Also these coatings are sometimes used ornamentally. Where roofs are exposed and visible, the roof coatings results in providing a cosmetic effect.

Among many types of roof coatings which are available, the most common ones are polymer-modified acrylic elastomers and polyureas, asphalt cutbacks and emulsions, silicones, SPF and high-performance urethanes. White roof coatings, tinted roof coatings, elastomeric, aluminum and metal roof coatings are also few broad categories of roof coatings.

Elastomeric roof coatings are very versatile and can be applied on a large variety of roofs such as single-ply, metal, asphalt, polyurethane foam or concrete roofs (CSPE, EPDM, TPO, PVC). This compatibility feature is very useful and makes it prominent among other roof coatings. An elastomeric roof coating creates a uniform, seamless and durable surface that remains flexible even at low temperatures. It is very adhesive in nature and provides excellent UV protection for polyurethane foam. Its highly reflective nature not only reduces the cooling costs but also prevents premature degradation. Elastomeric coatings can be employed both in construction phase and the maintenance phase.
